Core capability
Highway & Marine Demolition
Highway and marine work removes bridges, decks, piers, and roadway structures where the governing constraint is time: a closure window, a track possession, or an in-water work period. Select has removed superstructures over the MBTA Orange Line and Commuter Rail, decks over I-95, and bridges over the Penobscot River.
Scope
- Bridge superstructure removal: wearing surface, concrete decks, steel stringers, diaphragms, and bearings
- Substructure removal: piers, backwalls, and abutments
- Crane picks of steel beams from abutment staging
- Overnight and weekend closure work over live rail and highway
- Debris containment over tracks, roadways, and water

Where it applies
- Short possession windows requiring hour-by-hour sequencing
- Removals above active transit and commuter rail
- Multi-bridge corridor programs with staged traffic shifts
- Transite pipe, asbestos conduit, and coated steel within the structure
What we plan with you
- Lift and sequence plans reviewed with the general contractor and agency
- Traffic management, detours, and police coordination
- Rail flagging and protection where track is adjacent
- Environmental permits and containment for in-water work
What we bring
- Excavators with hydraulic shears and processors sized for bridge steel and concrete
- Protection platforms, debris shields, and containment systems
- Crews experienced in night and closure-window operations
